Bug Description
Binary package hint: casper
I downloaded the Lucid alpha3 ISO and booted it in Virtualbox. I then ran "sudo aptitude update; sudo aptitude upgrade". It attempted to upgrade the running kernel, although this should not be possible when booting off an ISO.
(It also ran out of disk and crashed with a bus error, but those problems too might have been avoided if it hadn't tried to upgrade the kernel.)
I'm aware of bug #292159 -- this is sort of the converse case. I'm also mentioning this because the trivial fix -- to hard-code something to prevent users of a live image from attempting to upgrade -- will wreck the use case of upgrading a USB live image.
