Bug Description

PowerBook G4 (M5884), Ubuntu and Kubuntu Live CDs (probably Edubuntu too, but haven't got that far)

usplash exits between casper "Configuring X" and the first message in the main boot "Preparing restricted drivers", the screen goes blank during this period as well.

Can you please verify that this problem still exists in Edgy? I'm somewhat hoping it has gone away with the new usplash.

It still exists in feisty, on my DELL inspiron 710m and Thinkpad T42.

The splash screen disappears when configuring x in casper-bottom scripts.

Usplash was replaced by plymouth which AFAIK gives the expected boot time experience at the moment.
