Intrepid Alpha 6 Fails booting

Intrepid Alpha 6 Fails booting in some machines. Reporting This error message:

I've been experiencing a serious booting error with latest nightly builds and also with Alpha6.
(Tried CD/R CD/RW and more than one PC)
It fails booting and stops showing this error

I can't boot live sessions and not even the installation only procedure. I don't really think that is a drive error (CD) because I've tried burning it with another media in another computer and booting there having exactly the same problem.

Bad disc, I got that the first time as well.

Changing back to new since you tried another cd.

could your download be corrupt? Could you check the MD5 hash?

Tried with 3 CD's in 3 Different PC's.

Same problem.

Have the same issue. Can boot 8.04 live cd fine on my laptop but 8.10 Alpha's will not boot (including Alpha 6). HP DV6910US Laptop.

Looks like all users with this bug are currently using a nVidia Card.

Is there any status on this issue? I still am unable to boot the Intrepid live cd's and was able to boot and install Hardy without a problem on the same laptop. FYI, I am also unable to boot Fedora 10 Alphas and the just released Mandriva 2009 Beta. Is it possible that this is an issue with my laptop and the 2.6.27.* kernels?

This sounds like it is the same as bug 258432, for which a fix has just been released. Can you retry in one or a few days with the latest livecd?

In my case this bug is fixed as I'm not experiencing any issue anymore.

This bug is fixed for me in the 8.10 final version.

Bug has been fixed in the 8.10 Final disc. Alpha versions of old software are not a primary concern anymore. Thanks Chris.
