Bug Description
Starting with Ubuntu 20.04, the "check for defects" GRUB option was ditched and the integrity check happened when starting the Ubuntu live image. After 21.04, the integrity check doesn't seem to happen anymore: the live image starts up faster than before and no text appears indicating that the integrity check is happening.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
The validation check occurs in the background... so users aren't required to wait (many didn't wait & aborted the check, but still had issues due to faulty media), they no longer abort the media check as they don't notice it occurring :)
