Bug Description
BUG DESCRIPTION:
when casper try to mount multiple read-only file systems using overlay unionfs,
the second mount will fail because the upper directory must be writable.
SOLUTION:
use multiple lower directories to replace read-only upper directories
WORKAROUND:
use option: union=aufs
BUG LOCATION:
In Kubuntu 15.10 LiveCD
in file /casper/initrd.lz
in file /scripts/casper
in function setup_unionfs
somewhere after line '# Record the format we are using for this mount.'

Seems to me like this is basically a duplicate of bug 1561606; where the requirement is to support multiple squashfs images layered on top of each other.
