No text displayed when restarting Xenial live image

I think this is different than bug #966480 and possibly more related to bug #1547302 because the monitor back light is on but no text whatsoever is visible on the screen when you select restart from a live session of Ubuntu GNOME Xenial, just a blank screen.

Hi, I'm testing Live Session in Ubuntu GNOME Desktop i386 in Xenial Daily and I see the attached screen.

On bare metal I get a totally blank (not black) screen. But once the live DVD is ejected if I press enter the reboot proceeds as it should.

This is fixed in Ubuntu GNOME 20160225.1 amd64.
