Bug Description

I use linux mint maya 13 mate 32. I created a live usb from linux mint 13 Maya mate 32 dvd iso.

It is impossible to boot from that. A fter I made first choise ("boot linux mint live session" or something like this), the error notification appears as follows:

BusyBox ... (...) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

(initramfs) mount: mounting /dev/loop/0 on //filesystem.suqashfs failed: Invalid argument
Can not mount /dev/loop0 (/dcrom/casper/filesystem/squashfs) on //filesystem.squashfs

How may I overcome this?!

Anyway your bug description seems not to be related to Ubuntu, but only to Linux Mint.

Other this thing you don't write the way you made the live usb.

For this motivations I'll mark as invalid the bug for Ubuntu

Thank you for the fast response.
I tried to boot from ubuntu 10.04 live usb created from ubuntu 10.04.
Result the same (see attached screenshot), so I suspect, the problem comes from Ubuntu.

The problem began after I divided my HDD to partitions.

Sorry, but I can not follow your instructions anymore. The problem
presists with partitioned HDD only (3 or more partitions). I overcame
that by removing of all the partitions and using entire HDD.

It affects not only licid live cd/usb, but also later editions as well.

I have the same problem with backbox-4.1-amd64.iso (an Ubuntu-based Linux distribution) :

(initramfs) stdin: Not a typewriter
mount: mounting dev/loop0 on //filesystem.squashfs failed: Invalid argument
Can not mount /dev/loop0 (/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs) on //filesystem.squashfs
