E-book viewer has no icon in launcher or application switcher

Calibre's E-book viewer, the window in which you read a book, has no icon in the launcher or application switcher (alt-tab). The only way to switch from another application back to the book one is reading in E-book viewer is by minimizing every window one-by-one until E-book viewer appears.

How do you run the app? Does it have a menu/Dash Icon, or does it show up at all in the menu/Dash?
We have been noticing some odd things in the desktop files of a lot of apps that are no longer maintained by Debian community, I am not sure if this is one, but there is work to try to figure out the best way to fix all the bugs related to this issue (and others like it).
Apparently many desktop files do not point to an Icon, or do not have a proper icon installed, or point to a wrong icon.
A collegue of mine is working on compiling a rather complete list, to be uploaded on the wiki.
Hopefully we can get this taken care of.

Though it must have broken again.... As it has been reported to be broken in 13.10 still (on the Lubuntu dev list)

This has resolved. I don't recall when, but I now have an icon for "E-Book Viewer" (a book with a magnifying glass) in the Ubuntu Launcher when I am reading a book and can click on it to return to the E-Book Viewer application as expected.

Both E-Book Viewer and LRF Viewer launchers are displayed with no icon (using 13.10).
This is because their .desktop files define "Icon=calibre", but no such icon exists in /usr/share/pixmaps.
So, either the calibre.png is missing in /usr/share/pixmaps, or the wrong icon is being referenced.

The main Calibre .desktop file defines "Icon=calibre-gui".
A workaround to fix the issue is to edit the files "ebook-viewer.desktop" and "lrfviewer.desktop" in /usr/share/applications and replace the line "Icon=calibre" with "Icon=calibre-gui".
The launchers will now use the main Calibre icon.
