lubuntu fails to install on real hardware uefi

Bug Description

To reproduce install on real hardware install booting from a usb I created with dd. I tried the autoresize like the partition is my partitioning option wait what seems like an eternity no progress on the install screen wait for the screensaver to show up. The installer pops up and error message saying.

There was no output from the command.

I expected an install to finish of lubuntu 18.10 instead I did not get an installation and took a really long time and never showed and progresss beyond partitioning this large hard drive in the GUI.

I think this bug report is related to the following reports,

We are working with the same problem. I think Simon Quigley will mark two of them as duplicates, but it may be useful to have them all (two as duplicates) in order to know the hardware tested.
