Bug Description

Running on gnome-fallback I got this error.

spacebug@fractal:~$ cairo-dock

 ============================================================================
 Cairo-Dock version : 3.0.0.0beta1
 Compiled date : Mar 13 2012 12:17:35
 Built with GTK : 3.3
 Running with OpenGL: 1
 ============================================================================

cairo-dock: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/cairo-dock/libcd_gnome-integration.so: undefined symbol: cairo_dock_fm_vfs_backend_is_defined

and cairo-dock is now not starting at all :D

spacebug@fractal:~$ echo $KDE_FULL_SESSION

spacebug@fractal:~$ echo $KDE_SESSION_UID

spacebug@fractal:~$ echo $DESKTOP_SESSION
gnome-fallback
spacebug@fractal:~$ pgrep kwin

Thank you for this new bug report.

Can you check if 'Gnome-Integration' plugin is enabled? You can see it by opening the advanced mode of the config panel of the dock (at the bottom of this window - on the System section).

Can you also check if you've the crash when you launch Cairo-Dock with these commands:
  $ cairo-dock -e gnome
  $ cairo-dock -e kde
  $ cairo-dock -e xfce

Can you also post the output of this command?
  $ echo $GNOME_DESKTOP_SESSION_ID

Thanks

spacebug@fractal:~$

cairo-dock starts with all these

  $ cairo-dock -e gnome
  $ cairo-dock -e kde
  $ cairo-dock -e xfce

'Gnome-Integration' plugin is enabled (though greyed out and cannot be disabled if one would want that)

(As you know it now works)

Now, I get the same error when testing on my laptop also running the dev ubuntu version 12.04 but that one is using Unity as shell.

Strange... Maybe something wrong with the update or something else.

Yes but it you are able to reproduce this bug (you or someone else), don't hesitate to re-open this bug report! ;)

Is it possible to launch all the previous commands on your laptop (and post the output)?

cairo-dock will not start with any of -e gnome/kde/xfce

I get this all the time

cairo-dock: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/cairo-dock/libcd_gnome-integration.so: undefined symbol: cairo_dock_fm_vfs_backend_is_defined

Thank you.

Maybe a problem with our packages...
Is it possible to have the backtrace? => http://wiki.glx-dock.org/?p=ddd

For backtrace to work I have to install the -dbg-packages right? and doing so fixes the problem.. so a bit moment 22

"cairo_dock_fm_vfs_backend_is_defined" is no longer in the code, so I guess
that the weekly PPA is out of date
@Matttbe: is it possible to regenerate them (and update the version) ?
