Bug Description

New install of 15.10, (Gnome). I can access sites fine from other machines on the LAN, but my new install tells me that all connections are untrusted. I have also installed chromium browser and I have the same problem. For both, if I allow the exception, I can get through fine. (Though not to google.com which doesn't allow security exceptions, apparently.) I have checked /etc/ssl/certs, and all looks fine. (There is, at least, a long list of certs there.)

So, this is not a firefox or chromium issue. It's something deeper.

Because apport can't get to the browser, I'm not sure how to send system data.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1531478/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

I'm not sure if openssl would be the relevant package, but just in case ... Attached is an apprort file collected against openssl from the effected system. (ubuntu-bug would not let me upload it from a system from which I can access launchpad.)

I'm also uploading the apport file for ca-certificates, on the suggestion of someone at #ubuntu-bugs.

affects: ubuntu → ca-certificates (Ubuntu)

This turned out to be a problem with the clock! (Along with my unfamiliarity with Gnome.)

Changed in ca-certificates (Ubuntu):
