problems with bzflag on amd64

[incompetence]

ubuntu breezy on an amd64 native, bzflag 2.0.4 from the repository, the bug also
happens with the 2.0.4/2.0.5 from bzflag.org
One can not shoot anyone but themself. The bullets simply fly through the enemy.
The problem is within the c/c++ compiler.

To solve the problem one needs to disable optimisations for the compiler.
I tested that and indeed after that the problem is gone.
