encrypted root filesystem with btrfs uses very much CPU

Bug Description

I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 so that it has encrypted root filesystem (LVM) with btrfs using alternate installation CD. It seems that btrfs is eating up all the CPU power. Load average is constantly over 1.0. Is this know problem with btrfs?

the cpu load of encrypted lvm is proportional the the number of blocks accessed and written. btrfs does have a checkpointed monotonic writing that occurs even when the system is completely idle, so this could have something to do with it.
