No contrast or shadows for window borders of QT Wayland apps

Any KDE/QT app running via Wayland (does not apply to XWayland because those inherit the GTK border) has no contrasting outline or background shadow, causing the window to be difficult to distinguish against certain other windows or backgrounds.
