Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

I copied a lot of DVDs to my hard drive so I ad to click:

- copy CD/DVD
- copy to hard drive: "/home/laza/brasero.iso"
- properties

Then I'm always in my home directory so I have to click
- file system
- pub
- Videos
- *Serien
- 'serie'
- new file name

It would be much easier if:

1. the disc name be read-out and this is the suggested

2. the path to /pub/Video/*Serien/'serie' shoulf be safed

To make a long story short:
YES !
(but I hadn't used the word 'burn' cause it's a 1:1 copy to hdd...)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. A new version of brasero is available in both Lucid and Maverick and we are wondering if this is still reproducible in any of those versions, May you please test and give us of feedback about it? Thanks in advance.

This bug is still present in Lucid.

- The default iso image name is always $HOME/brasero.iso instead of getting the title name from the disc (volname will get it)

- Choosing 'properties' brings up a file selection dialog that always starts in your home directory

There are several other related minor issues:

- When selecting 'properties' to set the name, the "brasero" is highlighted. I often find that if I start typing instead of replacing the highlighted "brasero" it starts filtering the main display of file names

- After copy has finished the dialog reports the number of bytes copied. A 'uint' (ie unsigned 32 bits) is used for this, so you get the number of bytes modulo 4GB. For example a 7GB DVD will be reported as 3 billion bytes successfully copied

- If you have computer:/// open in Nautilus showing the DVD drive and insert a disc then it updates showing volume name and DVD icon. The right click menu however will never have the 'Copy DVD' option. If you hit the Nautilus refresh button then right click then the option appears.
