Comment 76 for bug 405544

Still getting this on Lucid with kernel 2.6.32 when inserting DVDs or CDs:

kernel: [ 86.273418] sr 11:0:0:0: [sr0] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE
kernel: [ 86.273425] sr 11:0:0:0: [sr0] Sense Key : Illegal Request [current]
kernel: [ 86.273432] Info fld=0x0
kernel: [ 86.273434] sr 11:0:0:0: [sr0] Add. Sense: Logical block address out of range
kernel: [ 86.273441] sr 11:0:0:0: [sr0] CDB: Read(10): 28 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00
kernel: [ 86.273452] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 0
kernel: [ 86.273458] Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 0

Changing the SATA mode in the BIOS changes nothing when I shift between RAID, SATA & AHCI. If I try to record anyway, I get the following:

kernel: [ 1866.549750] sr 11:0:0:0: [sr0] Unhandled sense code
kernel: [ 1866.549755] sr 11:0:0:0: [sr0] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE
kernel: [ 1866.549761] sr 11:0:0:0: [sr0] Sense Key : Medium Error [current]
kernel: [ 1866.549767] sr 11:0:0:0: [sr0] ASC=0x10 <<vendor>> ASCQ=0x90
kernel: [ 1866.549776] sr 11:0:0:0: [sr0] CDB: Read(10): 28 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 00
kernel: [ 1866.549789] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 0
kernel: [ 1866.549795] Buffer I/O error on device sr0, logical block 0

If I try to record anyway, I get the following message from Brasero:
BraseroGrowisofs stderr: :-( /dev/sr0: media is not recognized as recordable DVD: 10
