Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

I get the following message when attempting to burn an audio cd with basero:

"Please replace disk with supported CD or DVD. It is not possible to write with the current set of plug-ins"

This is with the lastest release of Ubuntu. Everything has been updated. There are several posts of this
same issue on the Ubuntu Community Forum.

Thanks,
Jay

Hi Mr. Villavicencio,

Attached are two files: one when I tried to burn an audio cd and the other
when I tried to burn an
audio dvd. The behavior with the cd is similar to things already reported:
hanging indefinitely
when normalizing tracks. In the dvd case I get a complaint that the format
of the media is unsupported
with the current set of plugins.

Thanks, for you help.

it doesn't show too much, could you get another one from the burning cd process?

I'm having exactly the same problem in Jaunty, and have run brasero with the debug and brasero-media-debug switches. I'm trying to burn a toc image that was created in Brasero on Ubuntu 8.10 of an audio CD.

I too have the same problem with Jaunty.

I attach the resulting debug log of running brasero with the options you indicate, and hope it helps.

This one's a real showstopper for newbies, since when it happens, with the default config, people who get the bug are unable to burn audio cds unless they deactivate the plugin or install more software.

The last line is repeated indefinitely, like this:

(brasero:8532): BraseroBurn-DEBUG: At burn-job.c:1306: BraseroNormalize called brasero_job_get_tracks
(brasero:8532): BraseroBurn-DEBUG: At burn-job.c:1306: BraseroNormalize called brasero_job_get_tracks
(brasero:8532): BraseroBurn-DEBUG: At burn-job.c:1306: BraseroNormalize called brasero_job_get_tracks
(brasero:8532): BraseroBurn-DEBUG: At burn-job.c:1306: BraseroNormalize called brasero_job_get_tracks

The only apparent error messages are about modules which should not be important since I'm able to record audio cds without normalizing.

While I was writing this message I looked at the logs...

Sometimes it hangs here

Hi obieito,

you just have to deactivate the Normalizer in the plugin tab, that plugin somehow fucks around ( i have the same ). After that it should burn all titles to the disc.

Had the same problem. Deactivating the normalizer plugin worked for me!

Hmmm, this also worked for me burning a Memorex CD-R., which is fantastic. Still have trouble with a Maxwell DVD-R.
Any reasonable explanation? Sounds like there is something basic I'm not gettig.

I don't have the normalisre plugin installed but still get:

it is not possible to write with the current set of plugins.

I seem to be getting quite a few "permission Denied" entries.
Is it a case of chowning something and off I go?
