Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

Using jaunty 9.04 beta 1. Version of brasero according to apt-cache is 2.26.0-0ubuntu3. Brasero will not start at all, and never has since installation of JJ (this was a fresh install, not an upgrade.)

When running brasero with the -g flag, I get the following--

khamer@stout:~$ brasero -g
(brasero:5381): BraseroBurn-DEBUG: At burn-basics.c:94: Initializing Brasero-2.26.0
(brasero:5381): BraseroBurn-DEBUG: At burn-plugin-manager.c:419: opening plugin directory /usr/lib/brasero/plugins
(brasero:5381): BraseroBurn-DEBUG: At burn-plugin-manager.c:441: loading /usr/lib/brasero/plugins/libbrasero-vob.so
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Let me know what else I can do to help. Here's some other generic information about my system.

I removed brasero and libbrasero-media0 and install the debian from intrepid (brasero_0.8.2-0ubuntu1_i386.deb) and it appears to be working correctly.

After downloading and installing the debian from intrepid, I tried upgrading to the latest libbrasero-media0 and brasero packages through the update-manager. This worked fine, and it works. So, as a workaround to this bug, install the intrepid version and upgrade it to the jaunty version.

This also probably means this bug is specific to 'fresh' installations only, and won't happen during upgrades. (Perhaps.)

Changing to unreadable
chmod a-r /usr/lib/nautilus/extensions-2.0/libnautilus-brasero-extension.so
eliminates the segfault
