Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

I use Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid 32 bit on a laptop with DVD DL reader and writer. The version of Brasero is 0.82

When I burn CD or normal DVD single layer (4.5GB ) all function well.
When I try to burn a DL DVD (8.5GB) Brasero start to burn, arrive at 50% of the process, and suddenly display an error.
I'm trying to burn 21 files for a total of 7.5 GB, so on the DVD-DL remain some free space.

In the image attached you can see the error.
I have attached the Brasero log too.

Of course I can translate the error (I'm sorry). The message is:
[Window title]:
Burning Error

[Message]:
Error during burning:
Error not managed. Exit.

Thank you for your suggestion to send this bug to bugzilla.gnome.org too.

Hi Sebastien,

I have opened this bug first here on Launchpad, then, after the comment of Pedro the 2008-12-01, I have opened the same bug directly on the Gnome Bug Tracker here: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=562897
So far I have updated only the Gnome bug tracker and forget this on Launchpad. I'm sorry for this.

Anyway I can confirm you that this issue is still present with Jaunty. As you can read in the comment #12 on the Gnome bug tracker.

Recently I have purchased a new Laptop and I have installed Ubuntu 9.04 64bit on it.
I have tried to burn a DVD-DL with Brasero, and this time all has worked well.
So I guess that my old Laptop has some problem with his CD/DVD writer and Brasero actually function well.
From my part this bug can be closed now.
