Also, could you please explain why you feel that the version of brasero in Intrepid is not stable. Reporting the issues that make brasero unstable would be much more beneficial. That way, we could have a stable version of 0.8.2 instead of having to revert to 0.7.1. Thanks in advance.

That way, we could have a stable version of 0.8.2 instead of having to revert to 0.7.1. Thanks in advance. We are in User Interface Freeze right now. This means that we would need to get the approval from the release team (through the form of a freeze exception) in order to make any changes to the user interface in brasero. I personally do not see anything wrong with having the empty space. It is also not a serious issue. As a result, I think it is unlikely that an exception would be granted to change the layout of the buttons. As for your second point, although 0.7.1 might be the current stable version of brasero, it does not mean that 0.8.2 is necessarily unstable. In the versions that have been release since 0.7.1, there have been many bug fixes. There have also been several new features. Unless a very serious regression has been introduced, there is no reason to downgrade to 0.7.1. Downgrading would cause more problems than it would fix. If some of the new features that have been introduced since 0.7.1 contain minor bugs, it would be better to simply patch those bugs than to downgrade. I personally do not see any reason to change the user interface or downgrade the package. If you really want to see the user interface changed, I would suggest contacting the upstream developer. A change like that would most likely get implemented upstream. For the reasons stated above, I am going to close this bug report. If you still feel it is valid, please feel free to re-open it by changing the Status back to 'New'.
