Bug Description

Binary package hint: brasero

I'm trying to do a 1:1 copy of a DVD. My computer do only have one DVD+rw-drive, so Brasero have to save a image of the file on my hard drive, but it stops with this error:

"Session error : impossible to find a format for the temporary image (brasero_burn_record burn.c:2270)"

(this happens in the "Copying DVD"-dialog when it's "Preparing to write")

Same problem here with Brasero 0.7.1.

I have attached the report as suggested.

No problems at all with Gnome-Baker (0.6.2).

I see the same behavior. The copy doesn't work with Brasero but does work using Nautilus.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Intrepid Ibex. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

Once, I had this problem w/0.8.1 until I realized I was trying to burn a DVD inside a readonly DVD drive.
