If I kill growisofs, Brasero reports that the burn succeeded, but my disc is unreadable.

Hey, thanks for reporting. Did you try only one DVD? Can you rule out a fault in the media, with other words. What is the make and model of your drive?

I tried 3 DVDs now called coasters. 1 of them stopped with an input/output error which was caused by DVD speeds higher than 2x. Two of them were coasters due to the fixating problem.

My drive is a writer included in my laptop, Acer Aspire 5920g. I'm not sure of the exact make on this. I suppose I could do dmesg in a few minutes.

This seems related to bug #354995
Though the error messages slightly differ, it seems to only affect DVDs, and not CDs.
The general description is that the burn seems successful up until the 99%, and then it gives some error.
