burning a CD out of mp3 files does not end

I have a album as mp3 files i wanted to burn as normal audio CD.

All went well but at the end (finishing the CD) it hangs at 37% and there it is for minutes.
The only possibility to end this was clicking on the icon in the panel and choose "Cancel" - which needed some more minutes till a window came up "Do you want to close the application?"

Trying to eject the CD fails, neither on hardware nor per software:

~$ sudo eject
