Do you use Nero under linux? Could you attach some logs that gnomebaker tells you please! Can you burn cd/dvd under windows with the same drive?
You should tell us the type of your dvd burner instead of the amount of memory and hdd space.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems. http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

Hi, I have a similar problem. I can't burn cds/dvds in Karmic 9.10. I tried command line, brasero and gnome-baker, using an internal and external drive. None of them works. I booted into a different distro on the same machine - and all went well, I was able to burn a dvd - so it's not a hardware issue. When using brasero, it just can't see a blank dvd in the drive, same for gnome. Also, usually gnome after inserting a blank cd/dvd asks what to do with it, in my case this didn't happen.

My hardware:
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm)64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+
Motherboard: A8N-VM CSM-NBP
Drive-internal: ATAPI DVD A DH20A4P
Drive-external: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GE20NU10

I know dvds are becoming a thing of the past, but every now and then I need to burn one... so please help.
