Bug Description

I was previously able to burn a music CD, now that I have upgraded to 13.04 I cannot. I select tracks (they happen to be in OGG format) then press the button to burn. The dialog shows "Normalizing tracks" (which is the first visible step) then nothing happens. Retried but it didn't help.

Also occurred when I used the Burn Audio CD plugin from Rythmbox (which invokes Brasero)

So it turns out that the "normalizing" thing is a plugin for Brasero
When I disable that plugin, the burning continues, so I guess this should be marked as a bug in the normalizing plugin

Kibi-hofmann has it right. Same issue, solved the same way.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Changed in brasero (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

I can confirm both the bug and the workaround.

Thank you Kibi; that worked.

By the way, I'm not saying the Duplicate status is wrong, but that other bug is over 4 years old, and was previously marked 'solved' and although a few people have noticed it has come back in Raring, nobody seems to be doing a thing to fix it. Is there any possibility of a fix in sight?

I also confirm the same bug for Brasero 3.6.1 in Ubuntu 13.04. Thanks for the workaround.

This shouldn't be a duplicate. I remember hitting the old issue and it being fixed. This is a new issue with the same symptoms.

Please do not mark this as a duplicate of bug #374101. The symptoms are the same, but the underlying cause is different.
