Bug Description

bootchart's "time:" summary field is apparently showing an incorrect higher time when compared to the actual chart drawn.
i have installed jaunty alpha 3 on my desktop and tablet PCs with bootchart and both of them are exhibiting this issue.
my bootcharts are here:
desktop: http://www.imgx.org/files/29488_o6a8b/jaunty-20090117-4.png
tablet: http://www.imgx.org/files/29487_3uggy/jaunty-20090117-1.png
i am attaching dmesg from my desktop, please let me know if anything else is needed.

Can you also upload the /var/log/bootchart.tgz files that match the charts? Then I'll have a look.

I had to comment out the cleanup of bootchart.tgz in the init script, now attaching current dmesg, chart image and tgz files... thanks a lot for looking at this!

I tried to reproduce the bug with a vanilla checkout of the bootchart sources. But with those I get the correct time.

http://people.binf.ku.dk/biehl/penelope/vishal.bootchart.png (from the png renderer, but I get the same with the svg renderer)

Strange.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the files in your bootchart.tgz - the output also looks right with my code http://code.google.com/p/pybootchartgui/

And Ubuntu doesn't seem to patch the actual bootchart java sources. So I don't know what else to look for. Do you have anything I could look for?

I got no clue. Re-installed Jaunty Alpha 5 afresh then installed bootchart and still see the same problem... nevermind, this isn't a critical issue.

We've switched to only supporting the Python version of the renderer now - I expect this was a bug in the java one that's been dropped
