Bug Description

Binary package hint: bombono-dvd

glibmm-ERROR **:
unhandled exception (type std::exception) in signal handler:
what: bad lexical cast: source type value could not be interpreted as target

The program starts to create the dvd then it just fails. I have created a dvd with it before, but sometimes I can't?

I see if it has this issue with different types of movie files?

Hi darthanubis,

What distro do you use?
How can reproduce the error (maybe your sample video needed)?

Using Kubuntu 11.04 x64.
Not sure how I could get you a sample video though.

The movie is Ip Man2 with subs. You know where to get it from;)

Is it the only video that you have an error on?
Can you reproduce the error on any video from http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/ ?

Just choose a video file (e.g. http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/HDTV/m2hd.ts
) and try to reproduce the bug. That's all. :)

Try http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/MPEG-4/ or
http://samples.mplayerhq.hu/avi/ then. Are you sure it is because of
specific (xvid) codec?

Also, print here output from Show/Hide Details Log please after bombono
fails.

Changed in bombono-dvd (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

I can confirm that this error is not confined to Xvid, I have two videos that I am trying to put on a dvd, and both of them are ogg theora. They were made in PiTiVi, from still images and H.268 video files. I am getting kind of frustrated, as no program I try has been able to make a working DVD for me.

Hi Micah,

Can you upload such sample video as an attachment so I can reproduce the problem?

I repeat - If I cannot reproduce the error on my computer then I have a little to do.
