Bug Description

Binary package hint: boinc

I'm running Maverick Alpha 3, fully updated as of 2010-08-15.

I've installed the meta-package "boinc" version 6.10.58+dfsg-2.

The menubar fails to appear in the Advanced Interface.

Running "boincmgr" from the command line gives the following:

(boincmgr:5214): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

(boincmgr:5214): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

(boincmgr:5214): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_set: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

Besides the missing menubar (and disabled menubar keyboard shortcuts), the rest of the UI appears to be working fine.

Screenshot attached.

This problem appears to be related to wxWidgets rather than BOINC, since the Truecrypt UI also has a missing menubar.

Hi,

I can confirm this situation when i'm not in root session.
truecrypt, boinc, audacity, filezilla come with no menu. When i launch them with the "sudo" command, no problem, menu reappears !

I've a lot of softs and i'm not ready to reinstall ubuntu now.

Someone could help me ? Is there an apparmor profile, a skel confil files for wxwidget in users dir ?

So reinstalling from scratch is "fixed with a configuration change"? Wow. I have the same problem and I cannot apply this "configuration change".
