Bug Description

Binary package hint: bluez

Description: Ubuntu 8.10
Release: 8.10
bluez-4.12-0ubuntu5

I've setup the Logitech DiNovo Edge keyboard/mouse combo using bluetooth-wizard and all works correctly until the keyboard/mouse gets disconnected: when I reboot, hibernate or shutdown the computer, turn off the keyboard, or wait until the keyboard disconnects to save energy. In Hardy, any of these actions didn't affect bluetooth connectivity. That is, after rebooting, restauring or power on the computer, after turn on the keyboard or pressing any key when the keyboard was asleep, the keyboard reconnected successfully without any special action.

In Intrepid, a bluetooth-red led blinks in the keyboard (instead of a green one) and it didn't work. I've to remove the bluetooth device using bluetooth-properties and re-pair it. But this isn't an acceptable solution.

I've downloaded the Jaunty package from http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/b/bluez/bluez_4.21-0ubuntu1_i386.deb and the problem is resolved. But I can't upgrade the bluez-alsa package because it depends in a specific release of libasound2, which depends on other packages.

I'll try to backport the package to Intrepid.

Any luck on the backport? I have what seems to be the exact same problem (and workaround).

Yes, installing blueman solves it (http://blueman-project.org)
