Bug Description

In Ubuntu Budgie bluetooth connection is lost in regular intervals (5mins).

Thus my mouse stops working, my headset stops playing music.

Reconnecting my mouse takes ages requiring a restart of bluez and reconnecting the mouse.

This issue became worse ever since installing budgie (17.04) in May.

(during writing this, the mouse stopped working again)

just wondering if this is a TLP / bluetooth interaction issue

Can you have a look here - http://linrunner.de/en/tlp/docs/tlp-faq.html#btusb

could be. I already had issues with TLP (related to suspend to RAM).

Must have been introduced with the latest kernel update though (as the former issue has been resolved).

extended measures demonstrate a loss of connection every two minutes on average.

Uninstalling tlp (+tlp-rdw, budgie-desktop-environment, ubuntu-budgie-desktop)
eliminates the issue completely

Also #1711382 does not occure any more (however, I see no relation between the two)

I think, this should be a tlp related issue (didn't know at the time of filing it).

OK, let's make this just a tlp issue. I don't see any bluez bug here anyway.

Did you try the workaround from #2? What was the result?

A kernel driver or bluetooth device that does not properly implement power saving cannot be fixed in TLP. Your only option is to disable power saving for the device.
