The above is the output after I tried the solution proposed by jeremy (wa113y3s) for a bug reported at the following link.
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+question/267253

The output of dmseg | tail is the following.

Wait for 16.04 and it will likely work. The firmware from the launchpad answer site didn't cause the errors in dmesg as the firmware didn't get loaded because your bluetooth is Realtek and the firmware would only get loaded for the correct Broadcom bluetooth device

I actually think this is fixed in Ubuntu 15.10 with the Realtek firmware and 4.2 kernel

Thanks Jeremy. Disappointed to learn that to get the bluetooth working, I will have to wait for the next stable version. Are there absolutely no options to get this working?

You can download from Larry Fingers github site, you will need the rtlwifi-new and rtl8723au_bt, troy branch to have bluetooth

I tried the above suggestion. Now I do not see the bluetooth icon any more. When I open the bluetooth manager, it shows "No Bluetooth adapters found".
