Bug Description

Upgraded from Kubuntu 14.04 to 14.10 to 15.04 beta2 yesterday

After finishing the final upgrade and rebooting my USB mouse is no longer working.
Plugging in the USB dongle (it's a Logitech mouse with bluetooth connection, worked fine so far) I get the following in syslog:

Apr 17 11:22:33 tp220 kernel: [13867.118079] usb 4-1.1: new full-speed USB device number 8 using ehci-pci
Apr 17 11:22:34 tp220 kernel: [13867.213829] usb 4-1.1: New USB device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=c52e

Apr 17 11:22:34 tp220 kernel: [13867.213845] usb 4-1.1: Product: USB Receiver
Apr 17 11:22:34 tp220 kernel: [13867.213850] usb 4-1.1: Manufacturer: Logitech
Apr 17 11:22:34 tp220 mtp-probe: checking bus 4, device 8: "/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1d.0/usb4/4-1/4-1.1"
Apr 17 11:22:34 tp220 mtp-probe: bus: 4, device: 8 was not an MTP device

I remember having seen messages that the USB device list could not be accessed, but these are gone now.

Please let me know if I can be of further help to track this down.

How do you know it's not kernel-related or systemd?
