Crashes on login with dbus_g_method_return_error()

Bug Description

This appears to happen on Dapper, at least on amd64, and seems related to dbus_g_method_return_error() which segfaults.

Confirmed by Duplicate. Bug 66323 has two proposed patches for this: and a much shorter version (not touching the icon show policy).
