Bug Description

Normally blueproximity seems to have a tray icon to let you query the status and summon the configuration window, but this tray icon does not show up in Unity in Oneiric.

This also affects precise. At https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=983924&aid=3349215&group_id=203022 (blueproximity homepage patch tracker) there is a patch that is supposed to fix this issue, unfortunately it does not apply cleanly and apparently needs some rework.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Changed in blueproximity (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

I am having this issue as well. The top-panel indicator icon appears at boot, but seems to disappear some time later. Right now, I am looking at dual monitors and the primary screen has the indicator icon in the top panel, while the secondary monitor does not have the icon. No other icons are missing on the secondary screen.

Not only with Unity. At Ubuntu 12.10 the problem appears with Unity and Gnome-Classic (2D or 3D)

Just ran into the issue with saucy.
In older versions I could whitelist it.
But the whitelist has gone.
