Bug Description

Binary package hint: bluefish

Intrepid is currently using a dark theme to see how well applications play with dark themes. I fired up Bluefish today, and it is a lot less usable with the new theme enabled. The text background is medium gray, which other applications use, too, but with the color-coded tags, it is almost unusable. Comments appear in a lighter gray which makes them barely visible. as does the green of many properties in JavaScript. The other colors are not as bad, but the lack of contrast certainly makes it a challenge to read anything on a laptop's LCD in bright light.

(Confession: I'm actually running the "testing" theme on Hardy.)

Same problem here. Bluefish is one of the programs that is keeping me from using a dark theme. You can manually change the syntax highlighting colors, but it's kinda tedious to do it for all languages. I think it would be easier for bluefish to force the text background to white.

Hello everyone!

I have adopted the bluefish package in Debian. I have reported this problem to the bluefish bug system (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=792965). The lead author, Oliver, suggests testing the latest version in development: Please, inform again about the status of this issue.

Regards!
