As Alan Woodland and pablomme suggested above the MPICH2 and OpenMP packages should not depend on blcr-dkms. I know personally few people who need either MPICH or OpenMP (or both) and none of them need Berkeley Lab Checkpoint/Restart, which seems to be dead by the way. The last news on BLCR site are dated June 16, 2009.
