During upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10, upgrade of binutils failed on amd64.

Seems to be a conflict between "binutils-multiarch" and "hardening-wrapper".

Removing "hardening-wrapper" seems to fix the problem:
 sudo apt-get remove binutils-multiarch hardening-wrapper
and then:
 sudo apt-get install binutils-multiarch
works.

this works for me in precise and quantal.
