Bug Description

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 dev with binutils 2.23.91.20131123-1ubuntu1. For example if I'm searching my disk with strings all textfiles will be shown without newlines because they are no printable characters. In this case it would be useful to have an option that shows all non-printable text-chacacters only if they are between printable characters.
