http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1633932 tells that this is due to the bindwood extension and how to repair it again. And in fact After typing in the right username and password the problem was gone.
Step- by- step- instructions:
- Open the file .local/share/desktop-couch/couchdb.html in your home folder. Either graphically or open a terminal (Applications/accessoires/Terminal) and type "gedit .local/share/desktop-couch/couchdb.html"
- Search for a line that looks like the following one (It should be near the end of the file):
<a id="there" href="http://XXXXXXXXXX:YYYYYYYYYY@localhost:55849/_utils">take me there straight away from now on</a> (remember to bookmark this page first!)</p>
- The XXXXXXXXXX now stands for the user name
- The YYYYYYYYYY stands for the password instead.
This still leaves open the bug, though that made the system request username and password in the beginning, though.
