This version was intended as a normal "unstable" upload (not really experimental, but also not intended to be synced under freeze): while the new upstream happens to be a bug fix release, the packaging changes aren't so restricted.
However, I'm not aware of it causing any problems in Debian, so if you prefer to sync it anyway, go ahead.
