Bug Description

Installed to USB stick and everything boots fine. When I go to add the wireless drivers it seems to take an extremely long time and then produces an error that you see above. If I do not use a persistant file system and opt for just the LIVECD then the drivers will detect just fine. Not sure what happened between the LIVECD and creating a USB LIVECD with persistent storage space.

Same scenario as above - using lucid amd64 iso on a 1gb USB stick with persistent file space, created using the 9.10 usb bootable iso creator.
This is on a dell studio 17 laptop.

during the package upgrades, grub would not write to the usb device. on original installation, the usb image was written into the existing file structure, rather than reformating. grub wanted sdb (not sdb1??).
