Bug Description

I've included a dmesg from after a point when the wireless is no longer working. Also, I experience frequent panics (caps lock blinking). I don't know if that is related since I haven't yet been able to get any information after such a crash. When it crashes that way, I generally have to power cycle the machine, let it boot to the dell logo, and then power cycle the machine again to get it to boot.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.2 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

The Broadcom wireless on this machine is supported via a proprietary driver from Broadcom and not from an in-kernel driver. Changing the affected package to bcmwl-kernel-source.

I didn't see anything in dmesg about the wireless problems, just a bunch of warnings about reading the EDID for your panel.

You should file a separate bug for the lockups.

Thanks for that info Seth. I guess I am suffering from multiple issues. Is there any work on the BCM4352 in the linux kernel right now? This proprietary driver is a black box.
