bcmwl cannot be compiled for trusty (14.04) - utopic HWE

I get the following error when installing the utopic HWE:

enclosed is the actual make.log that shows the error.

Looks like bcmwl needs to be updated for trusty to allow utopic HWE to be installed correctly

Note - if I download and install the utopic bcmwl package then this works i.e.
