Bug Description
The software updates for critical package bcmwl install FAILED. I expected it to NOT FAIL.
Initial install on Asus G750JW-DB71 notebook was Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS from CD (because 12.04.4 and 13.10 would hang while installing). It had no Broadcom wireless driver working so I manually added the BCM43xx driver found in hybrid-
At this point I checked for software updates keeping the critical security updates (which included this package whose install failed) but uncheck all the recommended updates. I also previously tried it without the BCM manual driver installation where it also fails but the jockey log file ended with complaints about a missing wl driver (see attached jockey.log.1 file).
I installed on the internal WDC 1TB disk using partitions 2 & 3; partitioned as follows :
sda1 101MB NTFS
sda2 10GB EXT4 / for Ubuntu
sda3 13744 GB linux-swap for Ubuntu
Asus ROG G750JW-DB71 Notebook
4th generation (Haswell) Intel Core i7-4700HQ 3.40GHz

2GB Nvidia GTX765M
