unable to connect to an adhoc network configured in my 12.04 laptop, something to do with bcmwl-kernel-source(latest version)

Bug Description
Even in my 12.04 machine i had to manually install bcmwl-kernel-source version 5.100.82.38..i tried that in 13.04..but it says the package is not supported..Any Suggestions??
