Bash auto-completion doesn't recognize three asterisks

Bug Description
Binary package hint: bash
Create file named '***' in non-empty direcory:
$ touch \*\*\*
$ touch somefile
type
$ ls *
and press Tab for auto-completion (not Enter).
First time it will escape asterisk:
$ ls \*
but after second Tab it will escape \ instead of asterisk:
$ ls \\\*
$ ls \\\\\\\*
