Bug Description

Binary package hint: bash-completion

In connection with the slimming down of shipped changelog files, new functionality was added to apt version 0.8.9ubuntu2:

  apt-get changelog apt | grep 'apt-get changelog'

Tab-completion support is missing for "apt-get changelog" and "apt-get download"

Marking Confirmed, this definitely is still missing and would be a nice to have.

It seems that apt-get changelog is fixed as of 1 April 2011 (1:1.3-1ubuntu2), but apt-get download is still missing. The patch adds the "download" option to the `apt-get` completion.

Lekensteyn, in the future, rather than adding more conditions and your patch to this bug report, please open a new bug report with your patch attached, it can be a little confusing that the bug report morphed into something it wasn't.

That said, the patch looks good and works, so I've uploaded it to oneiric. Thanks!

@Clint: there was a mention of "apt-get download" in the footer of the description, so I've adjusted the whole report. I'd like to minimize the total number of bugs.

Paul Sladen (sladen) wrote :

Thank you very much Lekensteyn for doing the patch (for apt-get download even too) and for Clint for catching and uploading it!
