Bug Description
Binary package hint: base-passwd
I can't change any password, because of a strange passwd bug:
$ passwd
Changing password for joe.
(current) UNIX password:
passwd: System error
passwd: password unchanged
$ sudo passwd joe
passwd: System error
passwd: password unchanged

The problem is solved with the latest upgrade to current Lucid.
However it was a strange bug.
