Bug Description
Binary package hint: base-installer
This happens when you try to install a new version of maverick over an old version without selecting format. The system tries to erase the directories like /var /usr /etc etc but if you have a file with attr +a or +i (in my case was +a) under those directories there is no check of the attribute and the file is not deleted, the recursive delete fails and the full installation gets halted with only two options available: suspend and hibernate. Luckily the console is always available so I confirm the file with +a was /var/log/chroot.sh, or similar, it seems to be generated by my previous hardy heron distribution.
