Bug Description
Hardy 8.4 (alpha)
Expected to happen:
That I can save my HTML files in a folder, public_html, directly when I start my computer for the first time.
It took long time to find out, and without friends I would not have started web-developing for a long time on Ubuntu if it was not for them.
What happens is that you sit there with your beautiful Ubuntu and ask yourself "Hmm... where do I save my html files for localhost?". And the answer is, no - there is no such place, you have to create it and to find that information is way too difficult.
It should be, like on the mac, a public_html folder directly under my home folder. It took me 5 hours, just to get going with web development! Insane.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" [WWW] http:// www.chiark. greenend. org.uk/ ~sgtatham/ bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems. [WWW] http:// wiki.ubuntu. com/DebuggingPr ocedures
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!
